Here’s a little bit about what has been going on lately!
In January, for the second year in a row, I joined a creative community called Fun-a-Day Boston. The goal of Fun-a-Day is to pick a creative activity and do it for 31 days in a row (every day in January). The purpose to grow your creative spirit and improve your craft, all while being part of a great community.
My create endeavor was to hand-letter a quote or song lyric a day. I tried to push myself out of my typical composition-comfort-zone on each piece. Another thing I tried was to pick quotes or lyrics that were longer in word count than I usually work with, to get comfortable with creating those types of compositions.
Below are a few of my favorites. I missed a couple days, so I only have about 24 pieces, but all my favorites will be hanging in the Aviary Gallery in Jamaica Plain from March 20th-29th. If you’re in the Boston area and have time to stop by, there will also be many other amazing Fun-a-Day projects to see!
And just for fun, a picture of me. In a coffee shop. With a good friend. And my sketch book.
All my favorites.
